Black Gold - It's not Texas Tea, its Graphite with a G. Let's look at some ASX listed graphite stocks. TON up 140% this week, TLG up 174% since March, SYR up 67% in a year. So why all the excitement? It is because we are getting to the stage where graphite and graphene are starting to be used in advanced electronics and manufacturing processes. For example Lithium Ion batteries use up to ten times more graphite than lithium carbonate plus the graphite needs to conform to very high technical specifications. Tesla's 'gigafactory' will require a lot of high grade graphite and demand is expected to soar. The Manchester University led Graphene Commercialisation & Applications conference kicks off next week. This is the global event for the commercialisation of graphene and attracts companies like Samsung, Phillips, Nokia, Bosch etc. The link to the conference website is here: (VIEW LINK)
