Cash is on the way out, electronic is on the way in. According to Magellan's Dom Giuliano Visa and Mastercard represent an amazing opportunity that you can't really acquire on the Australian market. Presenting at the Intelligent Investor annual roadshow Giuliano highlighted the prevailing tailwinds in the electronic payments industry. Methods of transaction globally continue to evolve away from cash and towards plastic a trend that Giuliano believes represents a fundamental secular change. The industry is still in its infancy with cash and cheque payments still accounting for almost 70-80% of transactions in developed economies and up to 95% in the developing worls.
