Footy Finals 2015 | Hawks and Cowboys expected to deliver in tough final series

Both major footy codes are heading to the final series in September. We have attempted to model each team’s response to their potential opposition using the regular season performances. Since the model is based purely on their performance data, it provides a statistical view of the potential success or failure of the teams in the final series. Despite the large number of games in both codes, six out of the nine AFL games and nine out of the nine NRL games are expected to be decided by less than 6 point margin. Both codes have the same teams that meet in the first round of finals meeting again in the grand final. AFL sees a past winner lift the trophy while NRL looks to crown a team that has never lifted the trophy before. Interestingly three out of the four teams in the grand finals for both codes are from Queensland and Western Australia. (VIEW LINK)
