Global Markets Up, But IMF Not Convinced ... | AUS Reporting Season: Preview | Trading The + & - Earnings Surprises... Get Set |
Peak Asset Management
Good morning, So… Global markets had a fairly good night last night (Dow+ 75 points, Nasdaq up, European up), which is good news… But we’re still not convinced that these Greeks are “out of the woods” just yet… The IMF has last night advised that the bailout proposed is not large enough… We expect some further “hesitation” from Greece and Germany, however, we see upside risk to equities as a lot of this bad news is “largely factored in”……. On another topic…. Get ready for the AUS Reporting season, which we will be extremely active trading the positive and negative earnings surprises.. The strategy is all about waiting for the companies to actually report… We are not “envisaging” which companies will do better than others… We still feel that those companies with USD exposure & USD earnings (i.e. JHX, CSL, AMC, BXB, MFG, SHL) will outperform. so get set..... The SPI is pointing to a 12 point rise this morning
