Jeremy Benson, StocksInValue Client Advisor took the opportunity to speak to John Abernethy to gain his insight on the latest reporting season before he headed overseas. From the reporting season there were large price movements in reaction to company announcements, particularly stocks that were shorted. Shorting activity contributed to Cochlear's (ASX:COH) price movement although results were reasonable. McMillan Sharespeare (ASX:MMS) was sold down prior to their positive results announcement. Ausdrill (ASX:ASL) recovered 30% after results from due to initial concerns of the business prior to results announcement. SMS Management & Technology (ASX:SMX) has also headed back towards valuation. Abernethy reminds investors that price movement may be due to market plays and nothing to do value.
