John Singleton has launched a tirade on the management of Fairfax in what is one of the more colourful sprays you are likely to read this year. The background to the comments revolve around a proposed $200 million joint venture between Macquarie Radio Network and Fairfax Radio's stations. Negotiations were said to have lasted 2 minutes before Fairfax' bankers were marched from the offices of Singleton's business partner Mark Carnegie. Singo said current management were running Fairfax into the ground and The Financial Review would be dead in a year. There are third-rate wankers in charge of destroying Fairfax, Singleton said. They will both (Corbett and Hywood) be gone in a year. Roger Corbett is as dead as Fairfax as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to watch it (Fairfax) die slowly. I'll wait til they are absolutely f . . ked and buy it off the receivers. (VIEW LINK)
