Opportunities in volatile markets and what this means for value investors

Having taken a breather in the December quarter, markets again suffered an unusual bout of volatility as we move into 2016. January saw the S&P 500, for example, record another technical correction (>10% decline) as markets continued absorbing the potential for higher US interest rates in the periods ahead.
