Volatility is picking up in the markets as the VIX, a volatility indicator, is showing its highest level since late April.Two contradictory investor concerns are to blame for this, according to Russ Koesterich, Chief Investment Strategist for Blackrock and iShares. Investors are worried about slowing global economic growth at the same time that they are also anxious about an imminent end to easy money in the US and Japan. However, investors should be more concerned about slower growth. Mr Koesterich recommends maintaining an overweight to stocks over bonds while preparing portfolios for extended market volatility.
