A local trend that is playing out globally
Australian investors are no doubt familiar with the popularity of high-speed internet providers, with companies like Vocus and M2 Group enjoying a big run-up in share prices over recent years. Nathan Bell, Head of Research at Peters MacGregor, thinks this is a theme that is playing out globally. They recently purchased Liberty Broadband, a holding company that has an interest in US cable provider Charter Communications. Charter is expected to soon become the second largest cable provider in the US, and their CEO is “widely regarded as the best in the industry,” he says.
