CSL has taken out the award for the top listed Australian company, securing the prize after fund managers applauded its wise choice of acquisitions and dominance over its competitors. CSL was named as the best performer of the top 100 listed companies at the Corporate Performance Awards in Sydney last night. J. AMP Capital senior portfolio manager Ed Rayner, who was among those who was surveyed for the awards, said CSL had made clever acquisitions over several years. Its share price has done very well, and they have been a global leader, Mr Rayner said. They have maintained that leadership with long-term planning and investment. They have made good mergers and acquisitions, good investment in their facilities and they have kept that leadership position while having a broad portfolio of products.
