The best way to appreciate Emmerson Resources' (ASX: ERM) exploration achievements is to examine its share price performance - which is up by more than 326% since our initial recommendation just a year ago. Most will have never heard of this ASX gold junior, but the company's been a dedicated explorer in the Tennant Creek region for almost a decade. Now that takes some patience and persistence - and just as importantly belief in the prospectivity of what the company's trying to achieve. To its credit, Emmerson attracted one of Australia's best-performing independent gold producers, Evolution Mining (ASX: EVN), as a $15m farm-in partner at Tennant Creek. The results so far are outstanding, with Emmerson this week announcing bonanza-grade gold results from drilling at its Edna Beryl deposit comprising 8 metres at 157g/t gold, 34.5g/t silver and 0.5% copper from 146 metres depth – but also including 5 metres at 251g/t gold, 2 metres at 613g/t gold and 1 metre at 1,043g/t gold!. These results open up the entire Tennant Creek field to a new generation of potential gold deposits.
