Matthjis Smith, Canaccord Genuity, believes Recently listed medical device company, DorsaVi, looks as though it is going to revolutionise how physiotherapy is practiced. DorsaVi's products have already been put through their paces, and taken up by some impressive customers such as Manchester United and the Australian Institute of Sport. Insurer Alliance partnered up with DVL to get the company to assess and solve expensive workplace problems. The company was set up by Andrew Ronchii because there was no simple way to get high-quality, objective, quantitative data on people's movement and posture. DVL developed a sophisticated way to collect information from sensors placed on the body and turn this into simple, actionable information. By identifying players who look recovered but still have some residual injury, the company has kept key team members on the field for more of the season, and similar results have been seen in the workplace and clinic.
