One Australia’s largest agribusinesses & biggest grain exporters: Ben Macnamara, CEO of CBH Group
With the grain harvest again approaching we look back on Episode 6 of “Finding the Front” from January this year where we had a very timely and fortunate opportunity to have a chat with the then recently appointed CEO of the CBH Group Ben Macnamara.
With the CBH Group, Australia’s largest co-operative, biggest grain exporter and one of the country’s largest agribusinesses having experienced a record breaking result of receiving over 20 million tonnes of grain for the last year’s harvest from across the state of WA, this was an awesome opportunity to get to know and gain a great understanding of their leader.
Ben grew up as one of a farming family of six in the Western Australian country town of Williams about 160 kilometres from Perth. In this fantastic conversation we learn how Ben set himself a strategy of developing his career in his own way. This took him on a journey to work for some highly regarded organisations, live in big cities and overall generate everlasting experiences that have helped him build a significant skill set that lays the foundation for his current position of significant responsibility. Ben shares his thoughts into the importance of his close family and his country upbringing, sport and teamwork and his learnings along the way from his various roles to provide some outstanding insights.
