Pura Vida Energy (PVD), Empire Energy Group (EEG), Cockatoo Coal (COK) and Audalia Resources (ACP) were reviewed and rated this week in PortfolioDirect/resources. Cockatoo Coal has one of the best value profiles (as defined in the PortfolioDirect/resources rating criteria) of any company rated in recent months. It could have been one of the most attractive stocks in the sector after its recapitalisation. Unfortunately, the board structure has dragged back the rating for the company. There have been too many examples of boards split along shareholder lines ending in tears for ordinary shareholders to ignore the potential risks.
