Sector in Review: The Big Four Banks. Philip Parker is the banking analyst and CEO at Altair Asset Management. With the banks either reporting or providing trading updates in the near future and following debate in the media about whether investors should be underweight Australian Banks we spoke with Philip to get his views. The discussion should be viewed in the context that Altair are bench marked against the ASX200. This means they need to be invested rather than sitting in cash. Given the substantial weighting the Big Four make up in that index we thought Philip would be a good person to give us some perspective. Parker says the key for the next leg of growth is likely to come from business banking. He includes discussion on the CBA result which he rates a 7/10 and discloses his own portfolio weightings across the sector.
