Vimal Gor: We expect a further 15 - 20 percent devaluation in the Yuan
Vimal Gor, Head of Income and Fixed Interest at BT Investment Management, says while he was somewhat surprised at the timing of the recent Yuan devaluation he is expecting the currency to experience further falls. "It signals to us that the economic growth is a lot worse than we had originally anticipated in China. They've moved a little bit now, 3 to 5 percent. In my team we believe there is another 15 to 20 percent coming. That will have ramifications for the rest of Asia which also will have to devalue their currencies aswell." In this short video Gor explains what this means for capital flows from China and his views on the outlook for domestic interest rates.
