Good Afternoon, So our US friends close up 190 points and we close up only 13 points? Where is the positive correlation between the AUS and US equity markets? We continue to under perform on the way up and also under perform on the way down…. So…. Will the RBA cut rates tomorrow? There has been a lot of talk over the past month or so on bond yields……. What we find (general rule of thumb) is that rising equity prices have been associated with falling bond prices (rising bond yields), as stronger economic fundamentals drive investors to stocks and away from bonds, and weaker economic growth produced the reverse. However, over the past few years, equity and bond prices began moving together as both markets were inflated by floods of liquidity from accommodative U.S. monetary policy, which distorted the traditional relationship. Bond Yields vs. Equity Prices (chart) Have a great evening, Niv
