Bell Potter's top three LICs to watch
Bell Potter Securities
In this edition of the Bell Potter LIC and LIT reporting standards report, we discuss the common pitfalls and nuances associated with performance, Net Asset Backing, and premiums/discounts.
Investment performance figures for LICs materially differ from indices and unlisted unit trusts due to the opposite tax treatment of either structure. In order to compare against unit trusts and indices, performance should be calculated post management fees, performance fees (where applicable), and operating expenses; while adjusting for the impacts of tax paid to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) with any dilution/accretion from capital adjustments.
With this in mind, here are the team's top three LIC and LIT investment picks for the June quarter:
- Whitefield ASX:WHF: We think this is your one-stop stalwart to blend into portfolios
- Tribeca Global Natural Resources ASX:TGF: A great way to diversify your commodity exposure
- Qualitas Real Estate Income Fund ASX:QRI: Your income solution at a discount
